How to help the induction process.

Hey guys it’s my third day in hospital, and we’ve tried two inductions. I really don’t want a C-Section. Is there any tips i can use to help the process of my induction. I had the pessary then I’ve had the balloon.🥺 Anything would be helpful🤍

If it makes you feel any better, I had a c section due to a failed induction and I don’t regret it at all.

Stay as active as possible try and walk around the hospital but honestly if your body & baby aren’t ready then just aren’t ready x

I was in for 5 days after failed balloon insertion, pessary that fell out after 11hrs without doing anything, and a sweep. They then sent me home for 2 nights before bringing me back in for drip and manual breaking of waters. Didn’t end in a c section :) so it may take a while but just to let you know it doesn’t always end in a c section!

No advice but just wanted to share my experience. I had 3 pessaries followed by the balloon. About 12 hours after the balloon was fitted it fell out meaning I was a lot more dilated and things had started to progress and contractions were getting intense. I then had the epidural which progressed things even more and got me from 6-10cm in a few hours. Hospital staff told me this often happens with epidurals because it makes you relax. My induction from start to finish took 5 days. It felt like the longest time ever but hang in there 🤞🤞 xx

Walk, and bounce on the ball. Honestly those are the best things to do. X

I got told to sit on a ball and do figure 8s with your hips apparently it helps opens up the birth canal. You could try it

I had the prostin gel at 10:00 by 10:30 I was 6cm. baby couldn’t break waters himself so they did it for him. Waters were broke at 15:00 and 15:26 he arrived.

During my induction they had me do the miles circuit and may with a peanut pillow

I had two failed inductions with a pessary and in the end opted for a c section, Idont regret it at all. It was the most stress free I had been in 3 days. If I had known that it was going to be that easy, I'd have pre-booked it. Instead of wanting to try birth naturally. Just make sure you have people that are able to be there for you during your 6 week recovery. As you won't be allowed to drive or pick up anything heavier than your baby for that time x

I had 4 different induction methods, 2 pessaries, the gel, the rods and finally the hormone drip… I was in hospital for 5 days and from day 1 they pushed having a c-section but I told them no!! And I’m glad I did… keep walking or bouncing to get baby moving down and unless you or baby is at serious risk then stick to your guns, your bubba will be out when they are ready! Good luck mumma xx

Active as possible, keep hydrated, try and stay relaxed walking stairs these are what the midwife’s said to me last week. I had 2 presserys and literally just able to pop my waters. Good luck!

Find ways to boost your natural levels of oxytocin. Oxytocin is the driver of labour. Think dimming the lights, listening to music/meditations, eating yummy food, laughing with and cuddling your partner.
