Sex after C section

So, I had my baby on 21st April via C section. I know they say recovery is 6 to 8 weeks and advise no sex for at least 6 weeks... but has anyone had sex sooner and not had any issues? x

I have and I just had my other half take it slow and go according to how I feel and what I can handle. 🙂

We did at 5 weeks and everything has been fine, probably would have done sooner but just didn’t have the time 😂x

It's good to get others experiences and opinions. We've not done anything for a month now and it's been frustrating 🙈😅 Had my daughter 2 weeks ago, and already my sex drive has come back full force 🙈 Just wanted to see how long others have waited before having sex after a C section birth... I never dilated, body just wasn't agreeing to any induction methods. If we're careful... should be alright.... right? 😅 x

we had sex after 4 weeks with our first and no issues

We did at 4 weeks, both midwife and GP said it was fine 😅

The issue is at the moment you have a plate sized wound on your uterus from the placenta. It’s a risk of infection. If you’ve stopped bleeding completely then the wound is probably healed but I’m a month PP and still bleeding on and off 😩😂 I waited 3 weeks with my first baby 9 years ago as I had stopped bleeding after my section but this time around we haven’t done anything yet as it’s taking longer to get back to normal and my scar is still tender on and off.

@Stacey that is a fair enough answer to be honest. I haven't fully stopped bleeding yet, it's a strange pale pink at the moment but seems to be on the way out... hopefully it'll stop soon. Thank you for your comment, It was really useful. I hope your recovery goes well and you stop feeling tender/bleeding soon x

I didn’t realise we were supposed to wait 🫣 but I had sex just over a week after c section me and my partner hadn’t had sex for maybe 3 months and I felt ready!

Don’t forget, orgasms trigger uterine contractions and they will kill the mood pretty fast 🫠
