Free childcare

My 2 year old goes to nursery 11 hours a week. We are getting the free funding now but haven't received a bill for this month. How does it all work as I know funding is only for 38 weeks and he goes all year round. Will be have to pay for the remaining weeks once the 38 weeks is up? Or is it because he doesn't actually go for the full 15 hours we don't have anything to pay? Panicking a bit for when he goes to 30 hours when he's 3 that we will have a massive bill to pay at the end of the year 😫

You will need to speak to your nursery as every nursery is different. Mine goes full time and the hours are stretched over Apr - Dec (Apr when the scheme came out), so pro rara, it is only a little more than 8hrs per week. We then pay £5 for the days we use the hours and additional hours. So 4 days full price and £5+additional houre. Next year, we should get about 11hrs per week, so hopefully it will help a little bit more. You can use the tax free childcare too.
