Need to vent-Husband help

First, my husband has been really hands on especially once I got pregnant-took on more house chores and cooking etc. now that our LO is here we started off great with a night routine even though he still has work. Only this past week (LO is almost 5 weeks) she has had more gas and been increasingly fussy, her cries have brought me to tears more than once and this is the second night where my husband has gone to sleep early to (what I feel is) avoid helping me with her when she fusses almost uncontrollably. Today her gas and my nerves were especially bad and at its peak I was using the Frida windy gas passer, it helped but not completely and was making a mess. I called to him multiple times to help and he didn’t budge! There was no way he not only fell asleep but slept through that right? Maybe it is a stress response but I need help and have her all day!! My nerves are hanging on by a thread. A part of me wants to reach over and give him hell but I also don’t need more screaming or stress rn. P.S. Just now he was listening to some video on YT and a loud commercial blasted in his ear startling him awake 😬-karma or he decided since she is quiet he could “wake up”.

First regarding your LO’s fussing I’d suggest you ask your pediatrician to see if they’re able to take gas drops, my girl was really struggling and the doctor suggested it and it worked wonders. For the problem you’re having with your husband the best thing to do is have a conversation with him about your feelings. I was having the same problem with my partner, but having a genuine conversation worked wonders. With all of the things that i experienced postpartum I forgot that he’s also adjusting to our new life. So we make compromises, he takes the baby for a couple of hours after work so I can sleep, and I run night shift(he sleeps like a rock do he can’t hear her🤣). Just take it one step at a time, once you guys get into a routine that works for you both it’ll be worth it.
