Is his reaction valid

So our 4 year old was fighting over a toy with his younger brother I warned them that I would take it if they wouldn’t stop/ take turns. I ended up taking the toy but as I have taken it out 4 year old has grabbed my leg and said “I don’t want you to take it” I’ve responded pretty calmly. His dad sees him on my leg and instantly picks him up and veryyy sternly says “ don’t you ever put your hands on your mum “ Obviously our boy is still crying from the toy situation and now this. Am I crazy for thinking that is way over the top. Everything was going ok before that with him

I think it was a bit OD, i think his reaction would only be valid if he hit you not if he like clung onto you

Oh my god, this breaks my heart!!! Poor baby!!! Give baby boy an extra snuggle for me!

The child could just be confused about what that means. If he was just holding on to your leg - surely he’s allowed to do that to his mother.

@Rosa that is my point. I wasn’t phased with him holding my leg at all

Exactly - I realise that 💕

If he was hitting you, that would make more sense. I would probably ask dad not to do that anymore as it’s confusing to the child. I understand he’s trying to teach him “right”, my husband does something similar when my son hits me. He pulls him aside and says “you do not hit mama! Say you’re sorry!” and I’m over here like “I can handle this, dude, chill” lol
