Holiday Abroad

We have been invited to go abroad in the summer to Spain with family and just wondering if it is a good idea with a 6/7 month old? I’m already stressing about what we would need to take and haven’t even booked yet, LO is bottle fed. I feel like we would need to take so much 🙈. Plus it would all use up quite a bit of the suitcase weight limit, it’s stressing me out just thinking about it! Anyone else going abroad this year?

Im taking our LB in June to gran canaria for 2 weeks.. he will be just turned 5m! Depending on the airline u get extra weight or luggage for an infant! We are flying Jet2 so we can bring two large items such as Pram / car seat etc and we get an additional 10kg weight added to our luggage allowance! He is formula fed too, yes theres alot to bring but most of it is suff you use every day! Just takes a bit of maths to make sure you have all in that you will need! xx

We've booked to go to Spain in September, LG would have just turned 8months! Purposely booked where we are going as flight is just under two hours! I must admit I am stressing, but plenty of people are taking their under 1s away and I think it's just the case of buying bits and pieces months before and not trying to overload yourself at last minute. But most of the stuff that will need we already have! Don't stress too much - you will be making memories 🥰

Definitely! We took my first child to Spain for the first time at 6mo, and this year we’re going away in September so Jan baby is 8mo. I don’t think you need to take that much at all really. As Roisin said, you can use the extra allowance for pram and something else. Cold water sterilising and a collapsible bucket- won’t take up much space or weight in the cases, in addition to a few bottles. Theres only a few small additional bits and pieces that you might need in addition to the everyday things. And you can always find somewhere to wash stuff, so you could travel lighter and pop in a load of washing.

We took our 3.5 month old to Crete and it was amazing. Yes you need a bit of stuff, but also you can pack stuff into the car seat bag and pram bag and use it as additional luggage!

I went to Spain in March when my baby was 6 weeks old. We were in Lanzarote as I am from there, the flight was 4h and it was absolutely amazing, baby was sleeping all flight and just fed him to take off and land. He is also bottle fed, you can take formula and water in your hand luggage, as much as you want. You can also take your pram to the gate, mine was 2 pieces and no problem at all. About the suitcase I took a big one just for the baby but we stayed there a month 😅. I don’t know how long you’ll be there but take enough formula as there they don’t have the same brands (just some of them). If you need something else just ask me please xx

I have travelled twice with my baby now. One at 10 weeks to Spain and came back to the Uk and then left to Zurich at 12weeks. It can be done, it needs a lot of preparation and packing but it can be done. I requested corridor seat because my baby likes being held while walking and also he needs to be rocked to sleep. EasyJet staff was so nice and helpful. Also took my Fox 3 pram in every flight and packed his bouncer because that is where he spends most of the time when is not being held. We flew at 6am the first time so baby slept even through security lol. The next flights just tried to have him entertained as much as possible because I didn’t want to use screens. It’s possible girls !! 💪🏼
