Is my friend rude? Photo below

All I said was that I didn’t want to spend an hour or two and have everyone sit down and watch me open every single gift. I am having a baby shower out of state where my family is, and she’s flying out but being weird/rude? Wanting to return the gifts now??? Since I said I didn’t want to make a big production out of it. Also, pointing out that I have been sick due to the pregnancy and this message makes me feel so awkward. She ALSO is commenting on how I will have alcohol at my baby shower for guests. It’s a big event, I’m having food and drinks and spending a lot of work and effort throwing this event. Is she rude? Am I wrong?

I’ve come to the conclusion people will take things however they want. Regardless of your tone or intent. If she wants to be weird/rude she can just not come 🥰 cause at the end of the day it’s not about her or anybody else. It’s celebrating you and your baby. If people don’t want to respect how you choose to celebrate tell them to get fucked 🫶🏼

This is where I make a phone call to them and ask for clarity. I don't have time for non sense. Especially when I have a tiny human who doesn't need to deal with them either. If she can't have a grown in conversation time to SAY BYE to that friendship

This is your event so by all means do what you want. But a lot of people like watching others open their gifts especially if that is their love language. She might just want to see your reaction to her gift. If she is flying a long way for your baby shower she just might want that. I would try and compromise and open her gift with her by y’all’s self. That way she can see that you liked her gift. I would just call to clarify. This seems to be more so communication issue. She might just want your in person reaction. Sending all the love ❤️ ❤️❤️. Have a great baby shower!!

uninvite her so quickly. the entitlement is too much and she’s trying to gaslight you. nah-uh

It's your baby shower you do whatever you want. This is your pregnancy and she isn't a good friend if she gone act like that

@Olivia You’re so right. I didn’t even realize that. Wow. Thanks for shining light to this. Toxic trait of her to do

I have lost a few friends during my pregnancy over setting boundaries but I learned something valuable if it doesn't concern me and baby and our lil family I'm not worried about it. I will protect our peace at all cost even if I have to cut off friends or family for that matter.
