I laid on my sides with a pillow propped at the side of my belly whilst still in hospital. Used the side of the beds to lower myself and pull myself up, also found sleeping on my back with a pillow under my knees helped so I wasn’t so straight. You may find the swelling in your feet will get worse before it gets better. Mine took just over 2 weeks to return to normal. You’ve carried extra fluid for months and gravity does its work leaving only your feet for it to go to. Feet up as much as you can and plenty of water to flush the extra fluid out. Also keep on top of pain meds. It helps massively x

@Kirsty thankyou , I might give laying on my back ago tonight with the pillow under my legs :) , a few people said it wasn't normal to have foot swelling so I got abit worried xx

@Incognito mine was really bad. My feet had stretch marks at one point. But it does get better just might take a few days. Try and rotate ankles every so often when your laying down to keep circulation going or wear compression socks x

I started as soon as I got home. Started with side sleeping because I forgot stomach sleeping was a thing for a day or two, and then was like omg wait I can stomach sleep - I found the pressure really nice 🥰 I can't back sleep, so I didn't do that, but only because I don't like it - if you like it you should do it! Swelling in the lower half is really normal, it'll clear in a couple weeks tops. Just keep moving around as much as you can and it'll help body remove the fluid. I had enormous pillows for feet 😂 I even asked the midwives - is this normal? Why am I even more swollen now? Will it ever go down? 😂
