Labour experience, any similar experiences?

Just wanted to share a little on my experience of my birth! So… The birth didn’t go to plan.. I ended up having to have an emergency c section because I was on route to getting sepsis with blood pressure and temperature going high and mazikeens heart rate dropping, and I wasn’t budging from 9cm which it could have been avoided if I reached 10 but it wasn’t happening. Then got into theatre and I could feel pain regardless of all the numbing and pain relief they gave so they had to put me to sleep and do it instead of awake as I shouldn’t have been able to feel anything. Then once I had mazikeen I was in recovery and she wasn’t breathing for 4-5 minutes when she was born due to me going under and my infection and they had to be put her on oxygen so was taken to NICU. Because I was in recovery and my infection was causing my blood pressure and heart rate to rocket, I wasn’t able to see mazikeen when or after she was born for a good 4 hours or so! I’ve been quite poorly due to people normally being awake during the section they said I would feel a lot more pain than most having to be put to sleep and take longer to heal aswell as my infection levels still being high and they don’t know what/where the infection is coming from. So I was stuck in hospital until they go down when all I wanted was to be home with my family 😩 but I was still up walking about the same day and working hard to get home! 6 days later and we finally got to go home but finding out that day my infection wasn’t fully gone and my daughter not only had talipes but also has a heart murmur on top of it all… Been through the wars and we’re getting there … Mazikeens been an absolute superstar smashing it! and we’re going to have appointments after appointments but we’re both here which is the best thing I could ask for🙏. 2.5 weeks down the line and I still don’t feel back to my normal self but hopefully a little more rest will help! #itsallworthitintheend

Sending love and healing thoughts your way mama 💖

Sending love to you! I know how hard it is, just had my baby girl last Sunday. Couldn’t progress past 5cm for over 15 hours. My BP and temp was so high so they took me down for an emergency c-section after worrying about baby getting distressed. Baby girls temp was also high so we were treated for antibiotics on a ward for four days, managed to get home for two days, re-admitted last night with a nasty wound infection myself and a temp of 40🥲 it’s definitely not easy having a c-section even harder when it’s not what you had anticipated and is a traumatic experience. Take it easy, don’t be hard on yourself and always here if you want to chat - Totally going to be all worth it in the end Xxx

@Emma thank you ❤️

@Olivia aww that’s awful hun, I hope you well and home very soon! I know how stressful it is being in hospital… I got a chest infection after coming out and wasn’t well at all but went to the doctors because I was determined I wasn’t going back on to the ward 😩 thank you honey, same goes for you, get well soon!!xxx

❤️
