Just curious I've seen posts on here that people in the UK don't use formalities like "sir, ma'am, miss, mister etc".
Yesterday when I was waving down a stranger walking away from me to take a picture of my family I said "excuse me sir" which is pretty normal here. What would you say in the UK while waving a stranger down? Just "excuse me?".
